Armin Bachmann

  Armin Bachmann was born in Hildisrieden in Switzerland and started to play the trombone at the age of 14. In a short time the young virtuoso won prizes as a soloist and also as a member of a chamber orchestra.
 Armin Bachmann got acquainted with the famous soloist and educator Branimir Slokar in 1983. He finished his studies as a Tenortrombone teacher at Prof. Branimir Slokar and in the end in Trossingen at the diploma concert as a basstrombonist he proved to be very successful.
 At the same time he could celebrate his debut as a basstrombonist in the internationally popular Slokar Quartet. Armin Bachmann took part at different master courses, and he majored in the conductor subject tutored by Albert Benz. As a musician he plays in different symphonic and operahouse orchestras. (Sinfonieorchester Luzern, Opernhaus Zürich, Oper Frankfurt, and so on.)
 As a soloist and also as a member of a chamber orchestra he has got many contracts from Europe to the USA and Japan. Armin Bachmann's musical activity includes several televison and radio performances, and many different recordings.
 His pedagogical work consists of leading master courses in his native country and also abroad. (Paris Tokyo, Helsinki, Manchestre etc.) Since 1990 he has taught at the trombone branch at the Music Academy in Bern. In 1994 Armin Bachmann was invited to the Franz Lizt Music Academy in Weimar as a professor.
